The Smith Sidekick Jr. Mountain Bike Helmet packs classic MTB style and Mips® Safety System crash protection into a helmet for the youngest dirt riders. From the visor to the vents and extended back coverage, it has all the design features of the big kid helmets. The right fit is key, so it's available in two sizes and includes our dial-adjustable system to fine tune fit and comfort.

Compared to other helmets in this category, the Smith fit and style were a cut above. With the cake factored in it was an easy choice and the helmet is being used happily. Great product.

I tried to replace the broken visor on my daughter’s Smith bike helmet and was instead told to seek warrantee coverage for her helmet. In order to access the warrantee I had to cut the straps of her existing helmet making it unusable and also contributing to waste. While I am grateful that it was covered and she again has a helmet + visor, I’m not sure how destroying a perfectly good helmet is in alignment with the following information on the Smith Optics website: ‘The mission of the Community Responsibility initiative is to provide a framework and driving force that enables SMITH to make consistent and measurable steps forward to reducing our environmental impact and helping promote the causes we value. ’ Please practice what you preach and find ways to reduce your environmental impact.
